During "Louisiana Treasures" you will uncover several aspects that might give insights on such things as the richness of Louisiana's cultural heritage, the wealth of its current economy, and the natural features that make the state unique. |The Pellegrin Family Tree|
IN THE EARLY 1700's , Joseph Martin Pellegrin and Catharina Julienne began the Pellegrin Story. Joseph and Catharina were born in Toulon, France. Their son, Jean Laurent Pellegrin, came to America in the late 1700's. He married Marie Catherine Andras. Catherine's family, the Andras, also came from the southern coast of France. In all of the research done so far on the Pellegrin family everything traces back to the southern coast of France. There are many Pellegrinos, Pellegrinis, Pellerins, and Pellegrins living in this area of France and in northern Italy. Did the Pellegrins come from Italy? Only when we trace Joseph Martin Pellegrin's ancestors will we know the answer. The word "Pellegrin" means Pilgrim.
