This digital collection is rich in oral narratives, tales, songs and instrumental music. In Nova Scotian Acadie, with just a few words, an experienced ear can pinpoint an Acadian's home village. I was raised in a bilingual family in New Orleans -- we spoke both English and Yat. French didn't really enter into it, although I'm sure some families were trilingual and included that language as well. The Yat language is well-suited to the Yat person.
