Hello, I was pleased to find your site. I have had the most frustrating experience with BMG. I joined that miserable club back in Sept 2006. I immediately purchased the mandatory CD at their outrageous regular price, and a few months later ordered my remaining four free CDs. BMG would not send them to me. They sent no notice or explanation. When I contacted them a rep replied that I owed eight dollars from a previous purchase. Of course I didn't. I wrote and wrote and wrote. Normally BMG did not respond - they only sent that rediculous notice saying they would contact me if they had too. When they did respond they repeated their clain that I owed them the eight dollars, and never once explained why. On two occasions they sent me statements - each with no explanation. After writing them 10 times about that they finally wrote back. Though never claiming that they errored a rep wrote "Don't fret. You do not owe any money. Our records indicate that." As I read that e mail I wondered why they could not find that simple truth before. But I could not believe how the email concluded. That same rep claimed I had not purchased the obligatory CD at regular price. I could not believe that, especially since they had claimed I owed that eight dollars for the pruchase of a regular priced CD. I wrote and wrote about that. I received e mails from BMG that clearly indicated that the reps did not completely read my emails. This was very taxing. I must have written fifteen e mails about THAT issue, and I received responses that could best be described as form letters. I went to the BMG site and an area that lets one know if they had met their obligation or not. The site clearly stated that I had made my purchase. The customer reps could not see that. I must admit I became vulgar and used some foul language when I subsequently wrote to BMG. Since I never use profanity this surprised me.But I have to say that BMG's customer service would lead MOther Teresa to use the same language as I had. I wrote BMG for one last time and outlined all of my problems with them. Again, I received an emails saying Sorry, we can't send you your free CDs because you never purchased the obligatory CD. I decided that I could no longer bother with them, and that I would simply not write again, nor send them the balance - late payment fees for CDs I did not purchase. Then, miraculously, they sent me an e mail saying that they had sent me my free CDs and that they would arrive in two to four weeks. SO my ordeal with BMG is over. I urge anyone who joins that moronic club to keep all transaction records. THe best thing to do, if you have to join, is to buy your obligatory CD quickly and get your free CDS and then cancel. BMG will save you money - that is for sure - but only if you quit early. If you stay on you will pay more per CD as time goes on. Just look at that 3 dollar per ship and handling charge for each CD. If you can avoid BMG do so. They are horrible. Thank you,

Hello:

I just cancelled my BMG Music sunscription because they kept on sending me cds and wouldn't notify me when to reply...so most of the time I forgot and I ended up sending them back. So, I cancelled it today and tried to look on their website for a phone number and nope...it wasn't there. Then I called the phone number that showed up on my credit card statement and it says that no one is available and stated the hours. I called from when they opened until just about right now (3pm in CA). So, I have become so frustrated with this stupid money hungry company. I tried to go to the website to file a complaint, but it isn't working. Also, the second phone number listed on BMG just rings and rings. Do you know any alternatives to filing a complaint with them? Thank You!

Melissa.

To Whom It May Concern,

I’m very unhappy with your customer service. I work in the customer service industry and I've got to tell you that your Company's customer service is terrible. I applied online almost 4 weeks ago and my application still has not been processed.

I called about 2 weeks ago and talked to a representative and was told that I would be contacted with an answer. I was never contacted. I filled a complaint via your email link on your website but only received form letters in response that absolutely told me nothing. I had to Google to find a customer service number. The fact that you don't have one posted on your website speaks volumes as to your poor customer service. I then called again and could barely understand your customer service representative...she sounded like she could barely speak English.

I finally was able to talk to another representative after going through your automated answering service and was not given any information that was helpful. I was told to create another account online b/c the first one was dropped. Like a fool, I did that. Then, after yet another call, another customer service representative said that my first one was indeed still processing. So, now, I have two accounts pending.

I'm sure a big monopoly like you could probably care less about one customer. But, I demand a real reply and some action. For a company that wants to keep customers happy, you guys are terrible.

Hi Robert:

I met the same situation. I just received a CD I never ordered. And they sent me a letter from a collection agency. Should I pay for the membership fee and then cancel it? I do not know what to do. I want to end it right now! But this is no reason to charge me money. How should I do to the collection agency? Thanks a lot.

Thanks for posting the phone numbers on that website! I would have been stuck for a struggle without them.

Here's something that works: Tell them the account was opened by a minor without your permission. (It's what happened in my house.) That worked like a charm. They deleted all charges and closed the account within ten seconds.

Thanks again!

Hi Robert,
The numbers on your site don't work, you wouldn't happen to have a new one would you? I got a collections notice from this company out of the blue. I can't remember the last time I bought a cd (nor would I want to admit it). What a crappy company.

Thank-you,
Sean

Here is one I found on the message boards...
812-466-8636

let me know if it works...

Wow, thanks for the quick response! No such luck on your number, I actually spoke with the collections group after sending this and they gave me 317-542-6000 as a number, in both instances I got a 'fast busy' (i'm sure you know by now that '317' exchange is almost a sure dead end). Thanks again, and if you ever have a UPS issue you now have a new connection!

Take care

Thank-you,
Sean

Hi, I just wanted to say that your website http://www.louisianacajun.com/bmg.asp is awesome! Using the numbers listed in your web site I was able to cancel my Columbia House account. Thank you very much! The number that worked for me was: 800-262-1000 You need your account number and some of your private information of course but I was finally able to get a person and have them close out my account. You might want to add this number to you web site and remove the following number, 800-608-9540. They say that it's been disconnected. Thanks again for having this web site!

Robert,
Thanks for the phone numbers to BMG. I order from them the other night during a storm. the storm kick me off line twice while I was try to get the order straight.

When I finially got to check my order it had me ordering the same Cd's three times. I email the customer services to cancel two of the orders.

The next day found your web site with phone numbers so I call the 317-542-6655 it did not work. Called the second number 317-692-9200 and talk to someone about canceling my order. They told me that my orders was all ready shipped. Just ship back the two orders that I do not want.

I pulled a bank statement on-line and BMG had all charged account four times. Then today I pulled another statement, they charge me $8.99 three more times and I'm not sure way.

What kind of f*** S*** is that! Thanks you, Ken ------

Thank you for the information. I have just filed a complaint with IFCC as indicated on your webpage. My 11 year old son just received a "free cd" with a bill attached of course. Apparently the "order" was generated from information on the internet. I tried to contact BMG to inform them that collection of personal information for children under 13 on the internet is illegal and that they need to cancel the account, but like others I ran across your site in search of a telephone number. (by the way, BMG didn't answer....big surprise)

Anyone else having this problem should file a complaint with the FTC (www.ftc.gov) for violation of COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). http://www.coppa.org/

Like everyone else on this site i came across, thanks for shedding some light on these fools.
I find it funny how alot of the new posts on the site are today, the day that I found this site. Think about this. The reason I am searching for a number to contact BMG was because I received a collection letter OUT OF THE BLUE from these crooks.
Guess what time it is... its TAX TIME...consumers beware, they are sending out letters this time of year because they know you are getting your TAX RETURNS.
I have not done business with BMG since the 90's and I fullfilled my commitment. So when I received this letter I wanted to call them, and of course, I could not find a phone number.
I joked with my wife that I could not find a phone number, so I googled BMG CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER and I found this site at the top! There has got to be a reason why so many people this time of year are looking to contact BMG. I believe that reason is because they think that we wont bother to look into their SHADY business and ultimately end up paying the bill, but BOY ARE THEY WRONG. Thanks for helping, i would rather settle my business talking to a service representative than trying to correspond via mail or email. Anyhow, thanks for the numbers. Buyers beware, dont give your tax dollars to BMG. So annoying!

Hello Robert,

Just wanted to send a word of thanks to you for providing the number to BMG. I had searched until I was tired of searching on their website. Finally, in frustration, I just decided to search the web for: "BMG Music Service phone number". Your site was right at the tops of the list. I was able to resolve my problems and now I have the right number to use when I get ready to cancel my account.

Thanks again,

BMG is unbelievable, all these people can't get rid of their memberships and I can't get mine started!!!(Although now I am second guessing that)

I ordered my free selections( we have done this once already few years back and did our obligation and canceled later, those selection of the months are really anoying) online a WEEK AGO yes a full week.that evening we decided we wanted to go ahead and put out an order for a MEMBERS ONLY cd and when I tried to check out it said my membership was still processing check back in 48 hours ! So I did, still processing and so on and so on until voila a week later.I tried to EMAIL their customer service to report this BUT GUESS WHAT I'M NOT A "MEMBER" YET, SO THE SITE WON'T LET ME EVEN EMAIL THEM!!! I looked 4 differnt times on their site for a phone number or a way to contact them and nothing for me. It's late and I will call after some sleep, but they probably won't be able to help because I"M NOT A MEMBER! I'm glad I found your site and thinking at this point after what I have read I should feel lucky. But I'm sure they will be quite happy to join me up to send me bills! Lyndsay

I thought you might like to see the current report form the Indianapolis BBB. You may want to report this on your very helpful page of contact numbers. I found you through the attempt to find a credible phone # to contact BMG and I am eternally grateful that someone like you has taken the time to provide people with this information. I know I was going a little stir crazy trying to find a number to personally contact BMG and got no results until I found your site! Thanks a lot! You are doing a great service to people and I for one really appreciate it and I felt it warranted a quick response to you and a check into the BBB on them! I have no need to tell you my experience , but just understand, that I was fortunate to run across your info before actually getting caught up in the BMG wars! Again thank you and keep up the good work! People need people like you to help out from time to time with idiotic situations like this! In this ever lasting world of looking for a "Good Deal" you will always find that people are taken in by companies like BMG! I was one of the fortunate ones who didn't get past 1st base with them, but unfortunately there will always be someone who goes the distance and gets snared! Keep up the good work on the information highway!

Thanks for the contact info.

Unlike everyone here. I never even heard of this company before I got a request for my credit card info to receive my classical music. Classical Music? What? I don't think I have ever bought classical music in my life.

I tried to find out any information and the only contact info I could find (because it isn't in their letterhead) was on your site.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for posting that website. It was really helpful. I was surprised that I actually got a phone number out of the BMG customer service, but then again, I threatened to call the BBB. One tip for all of the other BMG victims out there, when you get a CD that you didn't order and they just sent it to you, mark it "REFUSED - RETURN TO SENDER," and drop it off at the post office. That way you don't have to pay for shipping to return it. You put it right back into their hands and they have to refund your money.

Greetings, I signed up for the BMG thing expecting to get free CD's with the purchase of 1 cd. Throughout the time I've had my account they have sent me monthly emails with "selections" that I might like stating that if I do not decline they would send it to my house and charge me for the CD. One month ( I think November) they did not send me an email, and they sent the CD to my house in Seattle with a bill stating how much money I owe them. Now, I'm at college in NC, and my mother called telling me that I had a CD with a bill and I told her that I did not order or buy one or recieve a notice for the CD. She sent it back for me. I just now checked my account because I was declining the monthly CD, and I have a balance of $30.28 and a late charge of $1.50, and there is no explanation of what the charges are. What am I supposed to do? I don't want to make a payment on a CD that I sent back. I've already bought my one CD from them using a special offer they gave (any of the selected CD's for $7.00). I've navigated their site on several occasions, and all the links on the bottom and some of the links on the navigation bar are always down or unavailable. So after several months of no avail and being hassled by their terrible sales techniques I come to you. Can you help me please? I will call them up immediately, but any advice you have please give it to me. I feel more scammed and suckered than anything. You'd think that these people who so dilegently mail out the bills and "monthly selections" would have an equally diligent counterpart that would be able to properly update and fix the site and actually ship your CD's that you ORDER. I have an order on the way (the CD to fulfill my membership requirements). I've read a lot of the emails on your site and we all seem to complain about the same stuff-- how bout that? Is there an class action law-suit currently underway? Cause seriously, there needs to be one. Thanks a ton and best regards,

Here is my most recent letter to IFCC. I appreciate your site so much.

In September 2004 I was contacted by BMG to say that they owed me a free CD from a previous instance where I had met my obligations. They said the CD was free and that I would only be expected to pay $2.85 for shipping. I told them I wanted a Norah Jones CD. They instead sent me a Jessica Simpson CD. I wrote the company explaining the situation (by email) and they did respond on where to send the package back. I accidently deleted the email, and wrote them back subsequently. I never received a response. From October until most recent, I could not get a response from the company.

In the meantime, BMG was continuing to accrue late charges to my account and in January 2005 they sent me a collections notice saying that they had referred me to a collections agency and reported my account.

I continued to try and get some kind of contact through BMG to no avail. There are NO contact numbers listed on their site and seemingly no recourse.

Finally, after an internet search, I came up a very helpful site (not BMG) that lists BMG phone numbers - though I don't understand WHY BMG will not list these numbers! The site: http://www.louisianacajun.com/bmg.asp lists several ways to get in contact with BMG, as well as other complaints against the company of people in my same situation. I think it is a shame that this internet site even has to exist in order to resolve complaints against BMG or to get the service promised. In my opinion, BMG is crooked and should not be allowed to operate in the manner in which they are. They are taking advantage of customers by operating the way they do.

Thank you for looking into my complaint. I will say that using the numbers that louisianacajun has posted did help me to resolve the matter and hopefully to get the matter off of my credit report.

A. Webb

Robert, I have received alot of tape or something from bmg (I am NOT going to open them) since I NEVER ordered anything from them! Do you have any advice/ suggestions on how to handle this? I would really appreciate any help. I'm really glad I DON'T have any dealings with them. I cannot imagine how they sent me this "stuff"! Thanks again/ R. Freund

Mr. Gaudet,
I have not found one good person within this regrettable company, either through email, and of course especially by phone.

For those wondering why BMG doesn't make their phone numbers available, it is of course to substantially save labor costs.

They are apparently making a sufficient amount of money that they can completely ignore the many instances when they provide absolutely terrible customer "service", and remain in business.

Thank you for providing a place to consolidate complaints against this bad company.

Below is my TWELFTH email to them in the past 50 DAYS, so far with exactly zero results from them.

On Nov. 22, they sent me an email saying my item had already shipped, but it has yet to arrive.

My bills from them, however, have never, ever been late.

Rick

Apparently you people have exactly zero shame. In each of your emails you say "It's a privilege to serve you."

Well, your repeated irresponsible actions are speaking much louder than your superficial words.

You have never, ever been late sending me your bills. Today I received a bill for $2.15 for shipping from a previous order, plus a $1.50 late fee.

However, tomorrow will be the 50TH DAY since you said Order Number ---------- HAD ALREADY BEEN SHIPPED.

This is the TWELFTH email I have sent to BMG regarding this issue, with zero results from BMG.

I am documenting all of this and will be contacting your upper management when Order Number ---------- finally arrives.

It has now been more than SIX WEEKS ... since we received your email telling us that our order HAD ALREADY BEEN SHIPPED ...

.. and Order Number ---------- still has not arrived, as of Tues., Jan 4, 2005.

Are you simply going to ask us to wait further?

If this order really was shipped when you say it was, on 11/22/2004, could it really take this long to ship?

Could any "Xmas mail rush" explain a package not arriving yet when YOU say it was shipped on 11/22/2004?

This is the ELEVENTH email I have sent to BMG regarding this issue, with zero results from BMG.

BMG continues to be completely irresponsible regarding this order.

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your website exposing BMG Music Service. These guys are unbelieveable! I have literally been lied to over the phone by their customer service representatives! This whole business is built on misleading and lies. There's got to be a way to rally all the folks together who have been screwed by BMG and shut this company down!

I really appreciate what you've done to chip away at this infernal company.

Dear Robert,

Thank you for taking the time to post all of this most useful information on your website. I called and cancelled my service for the second time today. I am fortunate because I am a student at UCF and they provide some free legal services. I will be going to my legal services office and seeing what they can do in terms of perhaps starting a class action lawsuit against these idiots. Thank you again for your help.

I got a mass collection from BMG and do recall the hassles of each contract I canceled :) and you are right there is no number on their web site, but the yellowpages found some! I was looking for a number that rings forever with out answer as a practical joke to leave on a rude persons car. Like sorry for the scratch, we will take care of any damage phone#--- --- ---- So this person could spend the rest of their life on the phone :)) since I could not find one, I chose the Canadian number for them to call.

Thank you for providing the phone number for cancelling my account with bmg. I have been trying for about 3 months to get a hold of them to cancell. I got through and the person I spoke with was very short and took my information, said my account was closed and hung up on me. Thank goodness there are people out there like you that help other from making some of the same mistakes. Thanks again and happy new year!

Thanks Robert for setting up this webpage.

I as well received automatic shipment of a CD that I never ordered. Although they have the notice option "if you do not deny by a certain number of days, they would send". This I understand. but why do they do this automatic shipping of CD's that they never sent you a notice for, that bugs everybody.

That is why many members decide to fulfill their membership requirement and cancel their account in order not to deal with all this hassle of shipping back and waiting for the charge to be taken off their account.

By the way i visited http://www.data.bbb.org/indianapolis/search.html, which is Indianapolis Better Business Bureau and entered in the search BMG and got all the info about them.

Thanks

So, I am a member of BMG. (That may change soon). They recently billed my debit card for $24.76 for a CD that I did not want. Every three weeks they send me an email offer for the "featured selection", and I almost always choose to decline it. I know I declined this one, but they charged me for it anyway, causing my account to dip below zero and incur a $20 NSF fee.

They said they'll refund the $24.76 once I return the CD, but will not pay the $20 charge that is THEIR FAULT, unless I can provide proof that I declined (eg. print the email that has the decline confirmation). Like I keep those emails! Well, I guess I better start keeping them. Now I will have to eat $20 unless I can somehow recover that email, and it's ALL THEIR FAULT.

(It is far more likely that a monolithic corporation like BMG made a mistake than that I made the mistake, because I am diligent about those stupid "featured selections" for the very reason that I don't want to be charged. I have to say "NO" once every three weeks, but they have millions of responses to keep track of. It must be their mistake. And if they were customer service-oriented, they would give me the benefit of the doubt and eat the $20 themselves. Now, instead of me raving about them, I am ranting. Now, they will lose my business instead of retaining it. Now, they will get no referrals from me, instead of many referrals. Oh well.)

Thanks for the phone number - at least I got to talk to a supervisor (for all the good that did!)

My 87 year old mother received CDs.

The address was hers but the name on the account was BOB NOARMSWIMER-like the sick joke, only misspelled. Thanks for the number, I called and was told the order was placed by internet. I told them to look for the email of the person who ordered this, then I cancelled the account, and told them I was throwing away the cd. BUt I would suggest anyone who contacted them to RID THE COOKIE OFF THEIR COMPUTER!

Thanks again.

Thanks for posting the number. I had a billing issue that got resolved easy enough, no big deal. What I thought you may find interesting (and I don’t know if this is mentioned on your site, I haven’t read the whole thing) is that BMG can not hold you legally responsible for a featured selection. A correspondence where a non answer is considered agreement will not hold up legally. I see this in our business quite a bit where it says “if you do not respond by the 10th we will assume you are in agreement” or something to that effect. A non response can not be construed as a positive response. I asked the customer service person who I got on the phone about this. She of course had no answer. I just found it interesting. I could see a class action lawsuit against BMG really having legs if anyone were to pursue it.

Sincerely,

Brian

Thanks for the numbers - saved me a lot of time. I complained to the person I finally got through to and she gave me the line she is fed about "we are primarily a mail order company and do not publish the number". I told her that that means you don't want to talk to your customers and that is why I will be cancelling my membership. I also made it clear that I hope she doesn't take it personally - it is the policies of the company that are the problem but I also hope she will tell her manager that she got another call about making the number very hard to find. We need more people in this country who help others as you have helped many of us - as I can see from the list of comments.

Hi I am the mother of a child who was getting cds from BMG.
On the enevelope the letter cam in, it just says customer services, and not who they are and this came to my son who is 14 years old. I thought about writing them and then I went looking for a web site. I found one but no number. There is also no number on the letter either. This is not a good thing and it can make a parent (person) angry when trying to find the number.
Thanks to your page there is one. Thanks alot. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Hi Robert,
Just wanted to thank you for the phone numbers to BMG you have on your site - you saved me $21.00 today! I inadvertantly submitted a payment of $29.00 when I only owed $8.00 (these amounts are rounded off). On their website, they show I owe $29, but I got a bill in the mail from them saying I owed $8 ( I have returned 3 automatic shipments so far that I declined online - what a hassle!) for CD's I ACTUALLY ordered. I hit the "submit" button before I changed their amount - and lo and behold could not find any info on how to cancel a payment OR a phone number! I was panicing - the $29 would have left me with only a couple of bucks in my account! After a half hour of looking through both my BMG mailings and the website, I put in a search online and found your site. I called the first number you have listed, got a real human after hitting several options - and the problem has been resolved. I could just hug you! THANKS!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR WEBSITE!!! It’s a shame that we have to find this information through a Google search on someone’s personal site, Instead of on the BMG site in a clear and accessible area where it SHOULD be! BMG is BLATANLY ATTEMPTING TO DISCOURAGE PEOPLE FROM CHOOSING TO GET REFUNDS for a service which people may be unhappy with, or accidentally subscribed to. As of today your phone numbers still work.

I just thought I would make people aware that the sales rep told me they charge $2.79 shipping and handling per CD and $4.78 for a double CD. I ordered 5 CDs and 3 doubles, the are charging over $28 to ship. They are shipping them altogether but are charging me separately. They are making a profit of about $24 on overcharging shipping and handling on this 1 order, which is going to be sent back. I have also been unable to locate the shipping charges on their website or their order forms.

I can't believe I finally found a phone # for these bums!! I've been searching for months and ran across your site after doing as Google search using the keywords "phone number BMG Music" after "Rotten ___________ ______________ " didn't seem to work. I used the 317 692 9200 # and hit 0 twice and got an actual human!

Yes, she was aware there was no number on their site and I certainly let her know in case she didn't. I have been crossing out my address and just putting the 'selection of the month' back into the mailbox and at least had the satisfaction of costing them postage both ways. But I even got tired of that. How in the world did you get their number? This is just great. They had my email address but I have not been receiving emails from them. They even had another selection ready to go to me this week & I just got his one two days ago. Thank you X a million!!

Hey Robert,
My names Steve and today in the mail I received a CD from BMG that I never wanted or even ordered. I thought they just made a "mistake" in my account so I just put "Return to Sender" and dropped it off the mailbox. Low and behold, I go online and I have an email that night from BMG saying if I dont respond to this email, Im going to be billed 23 dollars for some f... CD that is GOING to get shipped to me. UNBELIEVABLE.... I go to bmg.com and guess what, they can't cancel my account due to "website maintenence." I called my credit card company just now and they said that they cant stop a charge or dispute BMG until I actually DO GET Billed... At that point I lost faith in my Credit card companies and sat there dumbfounded looking at the Google website.......I typed in "BMG MUSIC FRAUD" and BAMMMM your website caught my eye. Right there I met others like you in my situation. There's gotta be some f.... district attorney somewhere in this land that has to bring down BMG. Robert, You made my day and I could sleep tonight knowing im gonna kick some a.. tomorrow.

Hey Robert,

You are a life-saver. First of all those numbers did work wonderfully. I did have to continuously press 0 after they read the options to me, but after a while it did transfer me to a human operator who was able to work with my account. I received their promotional CD in the mail yesterday for something I did not remember signing up for but they claim I had (of course). I emailed them a few times but after searching their website myself I knew they would probably go unreplied. Today, I found your website and gave the numbers a try and I told the operator I wanted a return label sent to me, no other items to be shipped to my address, and my account cancelled. She kindly said she would do all these things granted that I return their items with "Cancel Membership" written across the Invoice. I hope that things will turn out great, but I thank you for making them so easily attainable.

Hello Robert,

Thank you for posting this valuable information since BMG cant get their "stuff" together. I joined them because I thought it was going to be a great value, but someone there is working harder to rip people off. As a business manager, I find it very disturbing that their customer telephone number is not included on their website or the enrollment material sent . I know automation response systems can solve a lot of customers problems, but not all!!!!!.... How can they expect to survive?

I did get my "free" selections and would like to buy my "required selection" to fulfill my membership, but every month there is some "special" going on that doesn't allow me to do that.... What a rip!!!!!!.. I did get in touch with their customer service with your help, told them the selection I wanted along my remaining "free" selections and cancelled them. I don't know where it's going after this, but with your information.....it will be a breeze. Thanks again Bob G...

I just wanted to know if you have any more phone numbers for cancellation of membership or emails. I have found the email bmg@bmgmusicservices.com

After I signed up I thought better of it and tried to cancel but no email or numbers on their website. Then, I came across yours and called 2 voicemails and I emailed to cancel my account. I also forwarded a copy to my bank so they can hopefully refuse the charge.

Hey Robert, While I fully agree with your ire against BMG I did have a successful-so far-call with BMG. I called the first 317 number on your site and hit 0 twice to get to a human (8 am Pacific time). I got a human within 30 seconds and she was able to resolve my problem in less than 5 minutes-15 cents out of my pocket but I'll take it.

I found a kind to the person but clearly irritated with the company approach worked with her.

Also, they have an "Order Only" option through which they will not send featured selections-she volunteered it, in fact.

Thanks for posting the contact numbers!

I actually enjoyed my account at BMG for about 6 months. Now recently I hate it. I ordered two of the same cd by accident, then tried to email their customer service dept to stop the shipment like you can do on most website. Nope recieved the cd's and got charged and still have not heard back from the customer service. Now I will not pay shipping and handling twice on the same thing so thank god christmas is coming up but still. anyway i guess mine is a small annoyance compared to others but i feel bad for all and will be cancelling my account thanks to your page where I got the phone numbers!!!

Hi Robert, nice website
I used this link to remove myself from their membership database

http://www.bmgmusic.com/customer_service/inquiry/contact.jhtml

there should be a link under "General Account & Membership Inquiries " that says "cancel my membership"

Remember to doccument everything that you do -- make a home movie clip or sometthing save the link and the return page if possible so that in case BMG claims that you didn't subscribe, you can threaten them with legal action.
Cheers!

Rob-

My name is Bethanie -----, and I recently "joined" BMG Music, and have already selected my 7 CDs. I have not yet received the CDs, however I have received a bill for $20.93, and was told that I would have to pay this amount FIRST, then I would receive my CDs. So, I went to thier website and payed the amonut with a check. Every day since, I have logged on to their website to see if the CDs have yet been shipped, or if I could find out when they would be shipped, and guess what: The only answer I get is " Check back in 48 hours because your membership application is still being processed". Well, I have checked back every 48 hours for the past couple of weeks, and it says the same thing!!!!! I am really beginning to get frustrated and wish I had never been introduced to this STUPID website!!!!! I logged on today to see if I could contact someone at BMG, and there were no phone numbers or addresses. So, I went to the Help link and clicked on a couple of different questions, and the same answer was given for every question: " This information is not yet available because your membership application is still being processed". What does my membership application have to do with asking a question????? Well, now I just need to know if and when I cancel my so-called "membership", if I will ever be able to get my $20 back. Thank you soooooo much for making this information available to me. Please write back with anything else you can tell me about this site.

I received a package in the mail containing multiple CDs.

I found your website and became aware of the negative experiences with the company.

I called my credit card company and told them that I did not order the CDs or join any clubs. The credit card company personally called BMG while I was on the phone and made sure that the account was cancelled. I put the package back in the mail with "Return to Sender."

If all goes well I will not receive any more information from BMG.

Hopefully, my input will help someone else.

Anyway i got 7 free CDs and had no money. I didnt pay them back and I moved shortley after. Problem solved. Now they need creditcard number to join. Is it possible to get 7 cds and play for the one and the shipping and stop membership?

Rob,

I spoke to a supervisor of some kind and he could not give me an explanation as to why I received a CD out of the blue that I would never order. He also told me I established an accnt with them on Oct 11 & again on Oct 13th, which is a bunch of BULL!!!! He then proceeded to tell me that everything I ordered ,that took me nearly 2 hours after examining all offered, was not processed and will not show up in the system because I already had an established accnt with BMG which was established, according to him, 2 days prior of my so called second accnt. Again, I asked about the random CD and he again beat around the bush. I asked him why they do not have clear and precise information of their statements in order for customers to have easy customer service contact information. I let him know that the ONLY way I was able to get a phone number was by Googleing (sp?) for it and came across this nice gentleman’s information to the public about your terrible business. I also let him know about the horrible reviews and ticked off people toward BMG. He totally could not give me a straight answer on anything and the ONLY thing he was willing to help me with was to send my a return label. And I told him I want both accnts CLOSED immediately and that I better not receive any more random CDs nor shall I be billed for ANYTHING.

Once again Rob, thank you for your information on this matter. I lost a son this year and have had to deal with a lot of difficult people in the insurance field and I really didn’t need another hassle.

Thanks again,

Julie

Robert,
Thank you so much for posting the phone numbers for BMG. I only just joined a very few days ago, I mean maybe 3 or 4. The membership sign-up was for 12 CD’s FREE with only the purchase of one. I spent an hour AT LEAST carefully choosing the CD’s I would like. I came up with 7 or 8. After I received an immediate statement on my screen , Thank you for joining BMG music etc….I figured everything was as is. Now just a few days later I received a package containing ONLY ONE CD, and to boot NOT EVEN ONE I ORDERED!!!!!!!!! The shipping statement thanked me for joining Sound and Spirit. Yes most of the music I ordered was Christian music, however I don’t recall signing up for a separate club! I read some of your posted reviews on this company, so I went on over to BMG to complain, IRONICLY THEY ARE STILL PROCESSING MY INFORMATION AT THIS TIME AND I CANNOT ACCESS THIS UNTIL MY MEMBERSHIP IS APPROVED!!!!! WELL APARANTLY MY INFORMATION HAS ALREADY BEEN APPROVED BECAUSE THEY SENT ME THIS STUPID CD THAT I WOULD NEVER HAS ORDERED IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!! ALSO, I TRIED TO CANCEL, AND GUESS WHAT!!! We have been trying to get in touch with BMG for weeks, and your site was the only way we finally did it! Thank you.

Your phone numbers still work as of October 2004. You did a great service by publishing these numbers to the world.

There has to be something wrong with a company that deliberately hides its phone numbers and email addresses from the world.

Thanks for the contact information on your website. I unfortunately signed up a week ago and cannot get any confirmation information about my membership or order. The only message I see when I sign on to their website is to "Check back in 48 hours." Well, I've checked back all week long and nothing!

I tried sending an email to the US Contact Info. email on your website cs1@bmgdirect.com and it was returned as an unknown host and did not go through. They probably disabled it. Do you have a new email address for them by chance? This outfit should be run out of business!

Thanks,

Thank you so much for your helpful website. I have been trying for two months with no avail to get the people from BMG to returna phone call to me, or give me their phone number. INstead of a phone number, I get automated emails, one time i did get lucky enough to get a 800 number to their desk, and he four people i talked to assured me the problem was solved, when in fact, instead of cancelling my account, they created TWO accounts for me. See, the problem was my last name changed...all I want is a simple name change. can they comprehend that? nooo. They make two seperate accounts, and now I get mail saying since I haven't fulfilled my account duties, I should pay them in full. When in fact, I have fulfilled my membership with them. I am half inclined to take them to court. What can we do to stand up against them, and make them understand that it is not right of them to treat people the way that they do? I am forwarding your website to EVERYONE I know. And I have saved a permanent one in my filing cabinet for when i need it again, or anyone else for that matter. Thank you so much for putting an end to the hell BMG has put me through.

Hi my name is Mary -------, I am involved with an identity theft in Los Angeles county and BMG somehow got involved. The ex-wife of my current husband has used my identity to try and get homeloans, bussiness loans, ordered several magazines, and now BMG. The entire issue so far has equalled an amount of over 8 million dollars however BMG will not contact me back and refuses to let me know how they got my address tied with my husbands ex-wife's name. They are sending me cds along with bills and trying to tell me that I owe the money because the cds were sent to my house. I forwarded the cds along with the bills to the ex-wife's house but bmg is trying to claim it was an error regarding the name and that I am liable. Where the hell do these people get off? When I try to use the number I thank god found on your site all it does is ring forever no-one picks up the phone.. I have tried emailing them but I am getting no response. Any ideas on what I could do to help clear up my name and get this screwed up excuse for a company off my back? I did not order a damn thing from these people and I refuse to get stuck with the charges from them! Thank you Mary --------

Boy, I heard a lot of negativity about BMG on your website.

I appreciate your phone number listing. I called the 317-542-6655 and it worked like a charm. I was able to cancel my account.

When I called I even started a dialogue with the representative that went something like this, Me "I know that I am calling you now, but can you tell me what page on your website contains the contact number", her "I am not exactly sure, I do not handle that department", me "Well mam, actually none that I was able to find", her "Oh, well I can forward that on to the department that deals with it" in my mind (ya right) me "Well do you get many phone calls at your location", her "not really, especially from the website", I chuckled and said "I wonder why" and she chuckled and said "oh ya, probably because it's not listed, right!!" I then went on to tell her that it would be good business to include contact numbers.

I don't feel so much hatred against bmg, because instead of them scamming me, I have scammed them many times over the years. I have probably done the whole free cd thing 7 or 8 times in the last 10 years. I started when I was 13.

I just order my free cd's, pay for the s&h, buy my one, and get the remaining free. It works out to be an average of $55 for 13 cd's. I have scammed them because at different times they have "buy one at regular price, get two more free", well I did that, got my two additional ones free, adn the one still counted as the one I had to buy. So I ended up getting 15 cd's.....One time I forgot to send them my response for the "Featured Selection", and I know it was my fault, but I called and yelled at them that "that cd" was supposed to count towards one of my free ones, they had said that it didn't, well I yelled and argued and said that it wasn't my fault that they didn't inform me as to those rules, they gave up and counted as one of my free ones....

I still think it is a shady company, however, I like to get all "shady" on a company like that before they do it to me.....I guess I might be assertive, aggressive, even a bxtch, however, I do get things done!!

Your site has been helpful to me, though, and what you did was wonderful for all people that look for a phone number to their company. Just by seeing this site, you have done more than many to help your fellow peers, and that it wonderful....it is especially wondeful to see something like this site when so many people are so selfish in todays society...

Thanks

Just a note,
Thanks for posting the BMG cancellation numbers online. Just to tell you, those phone numbers are still good. The first # worked although they are closed and the second number just rings. I got a membership in the mail out of nowhere and i couldnt figure out how to cancel without mailing something and I dont trust them at all. I have no idea how they got my information and I am contemplating legal action.
Your page was extremely helpful!!!
Thanks,
Tom G...

Thank You! I called the first # and I couldn't speak to anyone but I was able to cancel over the phone. Although I will try calling back later to speak to a representative regarding a balance on my account that I don't recall.

I came across your web page when trying to find a phone number for BMG. I had accumulated a couple hundred music points, and they yanked about half of them from me (they "expired," according to BMG), even though the catalog mailings still had me credited with all the points. Their web site had the "new" amount, but the "catalog card" had the full amount. I can't seem to get ahold of anybody over there, but I'll try the phone numbers you posted. Their music points program is somewhat deceptive.
Thanks for posting the phone numbers. I hope they work.

Hello,
I was recently scammed by BMG Music Services for $30.00
I signed up for a 'free' CD on the Fastweb.com scholarship program in January, and by February i was billed $4.52, and then in March I was billed $30.00. I called the phone numbers listed on the http://www.louisianacajun.com/bmg.asp website, but the company is not answering. I was wondering how else I can cancel this scam, because I am not willing to pay $30.00. I want to return the CD i recieved, and end this. Can you give me some information on how to just stop this scam?
Thanks
Tracy

Dear Sir,
I just wanted to thank you for posting the BMG Music Club phone numbers. The posted number came in real handy since this music club never seems to list any phone numbers anywhere, which I think is deliberate. Once they get someone involved it's extremly difficult to cancel. Thanks again, I remain,

Good Morning Janet, I was able to cut ties with them by returning every cd that they sent within the time peroid specified, then calling them to make them stop sending more. Not sure what you can do if any cd's were actually kept. I certainly recommend contacting the Attorney General, the more people that complain the more likely they will be stopped. One thing to keep in mind is that if she is underage you will be the one going to the collection agency.

Let me know what happens and Good Luck! Rob ------------------------------------------------------

Thank You Rob. I will pass this on to my daughter. Years ago, I joined Columbia House Records and they pestered me for years. I had a friend write them and tell them I was dead. They still squeaked a few "offers" in.

Thank you again

I found your email and wanted to write on behalf of my daughter. She was suckered into joining while she was in high school. I made her pay off her obligation 2 years ago and she just received a letter from them telling her she still owes $20.77 or she will be turned into a collection agency. Is this what you experienced with them? Do you know if writing to the Attorney General will do any good?

They are telling her that she still gets her 10 free CD's, but I told her NOT to get them. It will only make them go after her more.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks for posting the phone number. The first one worked on 5/13/2004. Also, I pressed "0", and got the standard "that is not a valid selection" or "incorrect key" or whatever, but about 20 seconds after that message it DID connect to a live person.

317-692-9200 is no longer a working number as of this day. But 317-692-9200 is a direct number to BMG. Just spoke with them today. I was scammed. Got a bill for 50 bucks out of the blue. I never even registered with BMG. Unbelievable that this type of currupt company is still in business.

Robert, I guess I can't claim and prize, and sometimes the "Internet" is worth all the smut you have to put up with, because your site and the information on it was priceless. I have spent most of my life working for corporations, most are run by decent people, and every so often you run across one like BMG who makes it very difficult for you to do business with them. There is no reason why a company shouldn't be fully disclosed on their web site...none, unless they are trying to maintain a captive audience. But, people are not stupid and they (BMG), only hurt themselves, because I will not recommend them to the folks I know, and that is how they will lose potential customers.
