See (http://www.clarendon.org) The Clarendon Mardi Gras Parade is a local, homegrown affair, with floats, music, beads and fun, held each year on Mardi Gras, in Arlingtons original, historic downtown shopping district. Sponsored by the Clarendon Alliance, with guidance in all things Louisiana by the wonderful Louisiana Alumni Association, its an event typical of those in small towns all over Louisiana. In gratitude and compassion, we will be collecting for Katrina victims, as we march (or float). Accessible by Metro -- either the Court House or Clarendon stops on the Orange Line, and by bus (38B).
