Magical, Mystical Family Gras Parade Parade City: Metairie (Jefferson Parish) Map It Parade Date: January 25, 2008 Description: Jefferson Parish stages a stunning celebration of Carnival January 25th, 26th & 27th! ,br> It will be a page out of Jazz Fest with sprawling stages both in the middle of the parade route, across from the regions largest shopping venue and on the Westbank of Mississippi River, where non-stop Louisiana bands and feature artists will perform up until parade time with each night having its own fun costume theme. While live bands fill the air with rockin’ Louisiana music, families can also enjoy some of the most unique food the world over with the addition of food booths to Family Gras. Family Gras is a free, open-air celebration that allows you to enjoy a family-style Mardi Gras and the music of Louisiana. You can also experience special discounts throughout the parish for the special celebration weekend.
